About Mugged Off

Mugged Off is more than a mug shop—it’s an art movement on a mission to tackle the chronic underpayment of artists. Every time you raise one of our mugs, you’re helping to flip the script:

Why “Mugged Off”?

In the UK, 72% of artists earn less than £10,000 a year—a stark reminder of how creativity is often undervalued. (Arts Council England’s Livelihoods of Visual Artists report.)

Our Values

  • Fair Pay: Artists deserve sustainable incomes.
  • Conscious Commerce: We produce on demand to minimise waste.
  • Community: Supporting emerging and youth artists through Artswork.
  • Creativity: Celebrating raw, instinctive art in everyday life.

Join the Movement

Whether you’re fuelling your morning ritual or gifting a friend, each Mugged Off mug is a statement of solidarity with creators. Together, we can make sure art—and artists—get the recognition (and revenue) they deserve.

SLART, founder of Mugged Off

SLART has voiced his passion for fair pay in two spirited essays: “It’s Time to Eat the Rich to Feed the Artists” and “We Need the Artists: The 4-Minute Mile”.

As an artist himself, SLART understands firsthand the challenges of creative life. He has always championed community-driven projects and believes deeply that art flourishes when everyone is supported. Mugged Off isn’t set up to maximize profit—it’s built to redistribute income fairly, uplift emerging talent, and strengthen the artistic community as a whole.
